What Is Web Site Marketing?
What does it mean to market a web site? Just like the products we purchase, the movies we watch, or the music we listen to, they were all marketed to us through TV, Radio, Newspapers and other forms of media like the Internet.
Marketing a web site simply means getting it in front of as many people as possible. When marketing on the Internet there are several different avenues which may be utilized.
Where Should I Market My Website?
The following is a short list of possible places on which a web site may be marketed:
- Blogs
- Social Media like Facebook & Twitter
- Press Releases
- Video sharing sites like YouTube
- Web sites
In order to market a web site properly one must utilize as many of the avenues mentioned above as possible. There is no such thing as over-marketing your web site.
Search for blogs related to your sites content and post a comment with a link back to your site. Create a Facebook & Twitter account and link your site to these accounts. Write and publish a press release about your web site with a link back to your site somewhere within the release. Shoot a video about what your company or product does and upload the video to YouTube. Last but not lease, surf the web for sites related to your web site and ask the webmaster of the other site to trade links.
The ultimate goal is to saturate the Internet with thousands of links to your web site, thus driving a steady stream of qualified visitors to your site each day.
Don't look at web site marketing as something you do only once and then stop. Continue to build links, write press releases and do whatever you can to keep your web site in the public eye.
