Isn't optimization
just a bunch of tags? Optimization is a bunch
of tags but that's not all it is. Optimization
is a collection of things added to a website in
order to provide search engines with the material
they need to rank a site well.
What is website
optimization? In order to optimize a website
it must first have all the necessary components
like tags, content, robots page, good site structure,
and proper use of html formatting. Once combined
with links the site can now rise through the rankings.
How long does it take
to work? Optimization can work quicker in
some engines than others. Sites just starting
out can expect to wait about a year for Google
to really index a site well provided the site
is well optimized. MSN and Yahoo tend to index
faster.
Do you need access to
my website? In order to optimize your set
of web files we can duplicate your set of files
on our server and then let you upload the finished
project to your server or we can upload them directly
as long as we have FTP access to your site.
Is this all I need to be
on top of the search engines? Once optimized
you might need an occasional page tweak if you
want to climb to #1. You will also need a steady
stream of links to your website and new content
added to your site periodically in order to continue
to grow.
What do I need to do
to maintain my optimization? Every site should
have new content and links added to it on a continual
basis. At least 10 new links and 1 page of content
every few months will keep a site rising through
the rankings. More will move it faster.
Do I ever need to have
my site optimized again? Once optimized a
site should never have to be optimized again.
Additional pages should always follow the same
style and structure of the optimized pages but
as long as each page contains good content your
site will be fine.
Will my site always continue
to grow? As long as new pages are added to
the site and new link
relationships are developed a website will
always continue to progress through the search
engine rankings.
Will I be on top of the
search engines after I optimize? Not right
away. Since there are already other sites in front,
your site will have to overtake theirs by adding
more quality content, links, and optimized pages
than they do. Slow and steady wins the race.
How much does optimization
cost? Basic optimization is a package we offer
to sites we design ourselves. We offer this package
based on a per page cost. When we optimize a site
not built by our web design firm each job must
be quoted individually due to the many different
avenues that must be addressed.
